Baurzhan Ibrayev shares his views on the Kazakhstan's referendum on nuclear power plant construction

Baurzhan Ibrayev, Chairman of the Central Asia Advisory Board of the New Nuclear Watch Institute, a UK-based internationally focused think-tank and Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Academician of the Kazakhstan National Academy of Natural Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, shares his views on the Kazakhstan's referendum on nuclear power plant construction.

"Congratulations to the people of Kazakhstan on the result of the referendum on the construction of a nuclear power plant. The choice was made in favor of a bright, prosperous and energetic future for the country.

Kazakhstan has everything necessary for the implementation of such a large-scale project, such as unique scientific, technical and human resources, the creation of a raw material base, as well as the desire to ensure complete energy independence and carbon neutrality. I am confident that the well-coordinated work of a team of professionals will allow us to create an advanced industry, such as nuclear energy, which will contribute to the growth and prosperity of our country.

I believe that the upcoming large-scale work on the selection of technology and its implementation will be carried out with dignity and honor for the benefit of the development of our country!"
