The prospects of small modular reactors in Southeast Asia

Looking to the coming decades, SMRs could offer new opportunities to the region of Southeast Asia.

Nuclear power offers an important option for addressing energy security and decarbonization for developing economies, especially those in the region of Southeast Asia.

Small modular reactors offer significant potential advantages compared with traditional large nuclear power plants. These include the savings in cost and construction time, greater flexibility of location, lower carbon footprint than fossil fuel plants, and they can be deployed incrementally to match increasing energy demand.

During this webinar, key regional nuclear industry representatives discussed the prospects of SMRs in Southeast Asia.
