The capital city of Kazakhstan, Astana, successfully hosted the first edition of the Astana International Forum on June 8-9, 2023. This event provided a new global platform for experts, business leaders, and governments from around the world to engage in meaningful discussions on pressing global challenges and find actionable and lasting solutions. The sessions explored green energy transition, climate change mitigation, and sustainable practices.
The session on Green Energy Transition, where Tim Yeo, Chairman of the NNWI was one of the panellists, examined the impact of the transition to green energy, as well as possible risks and benefits for the economy and the environment. In addition, prospects for nuclear power development were discussed during this session, moderated by Ariel Cohen, senior fellow at the Atlantic Council’s Eurasia Center.
